Job Training and Employment Help for Canadian Newcomers
If you moved to Canada recently and found yourself applying to job after job while hearing nothing back, or working a "survival job" just to get by, we want to help you.
We'll provide job training and teach you everything you need to know to begin working as a composite technician in the aerospace or manufacturing industries, and then help you find a job where you can apply your new skills so that you can focus on building your career in Canada.
Text & media
Here's an overview of what you'll learn:
- History of composites and their use in aerospace
- Overview of various composite materials
- Composite fabrication methods including Vacuum Assisted Transfer Moulding, Pre-preg Moulding, and Wet Lay-Up
- How to interpret composite drawings and work instructions
- Foreign Object Damage (FOD) awareness
- Use of molds, jobs and other tooling
- Post-Cure Operations (De-moulding, trimming, painting and assembly)
- Quality management systems and techniques used in composites
- Practical applications including producing a simple composite component
You'll also cover essential safety training typically needed in the workplace: WHMIS and shop floor safety.
At the end of the training, you'll walk away with a certification stating you're ready and capable to find work as a level 1 composite technician.
Succeeding in the workplace is often about more than just having the right technical skills though, many employers are looking for certain soft skills as well.
To boost your employability even further we'll have a workshop for you on operations fundamentals, focused on developing the soft skills and operations skills that Canadian employers are looking for. We have feedback from over 50 companies about the type of skills they want their employees to have, and the workshop content is designed with that in mind. You'll also have the chance to perform an individualized skill-gap analysis so you can identify any areas you should target for improvement to maximize your employability.

But if you can commit, click the link to apply below. You'll be taken to the registration form for the program. Please read it carefully and take your time filling it out.
Once you've done that, we'll be in touch as soon as possible to let you know whether you've been accepted.
